Atomic Age Cocktail Party

Soft Tempo Lounge (143)

Atomic Age logo with illustration of a woman wearing headphones. Text reads

This week on The Atomic Age Cocktail Party, it's Soft Tempo Lounge. It was the next step in lounge and easy-listening that hit its peak in the mid 1960s through the 1970s. It blended the rhythms of bossa nova with bits of cool jazz, wordless vocals, and a little pop all wrapped in the sensual vibes of European cinema. We’ll hear from Hugo Montenegro, Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66, Dorothy Ashby, and many others.
