ILLINOIS CLASSICAL: The Evening Concert: FEBRUARY 22 – 23 –24 – 25 – 26 – 27, 2026 

Thursday night July 27 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the fourth program from this year’s “Carnegie Hall Live” series. Kirill Petrenko leads the Berlin Philharmonic in Mahler’s monumental “7th Symphony”.  Also on the program the Brentano Quartet plays a string quartet by Haydn.

Thursday night July 14 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the first program from the “Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts” series. Kirill Petrenko leads the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s “Rome and Juliet Fantasy Overture” and “3rd Orchestral Suite”. Also on the program Rachmaninoff’s “2nd Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s another Deutsche Welle Festival Concert. Frank Peter Zimmermann is the soloist in Alban Berg’s “Violin Concerto” with the Berlin Philharmonic led by Kirill Petrenko. Also on the program Dvorak’s “5th Symphony” and Strauss’ “Metamorphoses”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra led by Kirill Petrenko.  You’ll hear Mahler’s “4th Symphony” with soloist Christiane Karg. Also on the program Barber’s “Adagio for Strings’, Arvo Pärt’ “Fratres” and Ligeti’s “Ramifications”.
