Wednesday night October 8 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” you’ll hear the first program in a new season from the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Zubin Mehta leads the group in Brahms’ “2nd Symphony”.  Also on the program Brahms’ “Violin Concerto” with soloist Leonidas Kavakos.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Leonidas Kavakos is the soloist for Tchaikovsky’s “Violin Concerto”. Also on the program Debussy’s “Nocturnes” and Stravinsky’s “Firebird” Suite.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”.  You’ll hear Beethoven’s “3rd  Symphony" and Webern’s “Im Sommerwind” guest conducted by Bernard Haitink. Also on the program Berg’s “Violin Concerto” with soloist Leonidas Kavakos. The program differs from the one listed in Patterns Magazine.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Leonidas Kavakos is the soloist in Stravinsky’s “Violin Concerto”, part of an all-Stravinsky program with Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas conducting. Also on the program the 1947 revisions of “Petrushka” and “The Rite of Spring”.
