The Evening Concert

Sunday night  July 27 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “W-I-L-L Classical” you’ll hear Dvorak’s Op. 44 “Serenade for Winds, Cello, and Double Bass” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear chamber music by Enrique Granados on “Fiesta”.

Friday night July 25 at 7:00 on “W-I-L-L Classical” it’s the fourth program in the new season of “Gateways Radio”. You'll hear William Levi Dawson’s “Negro Folk Symphony” and William Grant Still’s “Incantation and Dance”. Also on the program music by Jessie Montgomery and Errollyn Wallen. Loki Karuna hosts.

Thursday Night July 24 at 7:00 pm on WILL Classical 90.9 FM for a fresh one-hour "Prairie Performances" special curated by our new John Frayne Classical Music Graduate Student Fellow Melissa "Mel" Bialecki Miller.

Wednesday night July 23 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “W-I-L-L Classical” it’s a program from the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing. You’ll hear Chen PeSHOON’s (Chen Peixun’s) Symphonic Poem “Wave of Emotion” and Bruckner’s “8th Symphony”.

Tuesday night July 22 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “W-I-L-L Classical” it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. From their archives you’ll hear Beethoven’s “2nd Piano Concerto” featuring soloist Vladimir Ashkenazy”. Also on the program Liszt’s “A Faust Symphony”. Sir Georg Solti conducts.

Monday night July 21 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “W-I-L-L Classical” it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Alan Gilbert leads the Philharmonic, New York Choral Artists and vocal soloists in Beethoven’s “Missa Solemnis”.  Also on the program Magnus Lindberg’s “Al Largo”.

Sunday night July 20 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “W-I-L-L Classical” you’ll hear Ruth Crawford Seeger’s “String Quartet” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear a 19th Century Brazilian Opera by Carlos Gomes on “Fiesta”.

Friday night July 18 at 7:00 on “W-I-L-L Classical” it’s the third program in the new season of “Gateways Radio”. You'll hear Joseph Bologne’s “1st Symphony” as played by the Gateways Festival Chamber Orchestra. Also on the program music by Bach, Dvorak, and Clara Schumann. Loki Karuna hosts.
